Also, I was wondering why Benten and Oyuki weren’t friends with Ran, considering they’re Lum’s friends too. But with this episode, I’m sorta wondering how Lum can have friends in the first place.

They look so cute and their relationship when they were a kid it's just that lum keeps lying and taking advantage lol that explains why ran is like this to Lum and the mom of ran is so strict and scary when she get angry

Guessing they're just skipping how the cat spirit even came to stay with them. On the contrary guess they didn't want to show the mother basically spanking the crud out of Ran. She had plenty of reason to want revenge on Lum. LoL.

The Evil Cat Spirit was brought in by Ten for a meal and to get out of the cold and loves the Katatsu and it's warmth. In it's actual life it died as kitten trying to find warmth but humans kept mistreating it and kicking it out into the cold winter. Hence it gained some minor dislike of humans but in regards it only has any really dislike to Ataru who pretty much tries to get rid of it also and blocks Ataru even from coming down to eat.

Wow, the characters in this show became self aware...Not that it helped tho..

Ran and Rei look so cute together, almost makes you believe that Rei will stop focusing on the food for once and pay attention to Ran...crazy right hahaha...ha...T_T. Ran got so overjoyed with that "kiss" from Rei that she decided to put her grudge for Lum on hold, pretty big deal honestly. But hey, leave it to Rei to ruin the moment, Ran casualy walks into Ataru's house and classic misunderstandings occur.

In the end it didn't matter if she found out Rei wasn't actually kissing her or if she thought he really was starting to display some feelings for her, cause either way, she had all the happiness she needed for the rest of the day.

We finally got to see more about the reason behind Ran's grudge over Lum in this new adaptation and...yeah Lum has a ton of things to regret, i mean...Ran's mother did much worse for Ran's psyche compared to Lum's, often times, little lies, but that time with Lum throwing rocks over that alien lizard resulting in Ran getting injured...yeah that moment alone is more than enough to understand why Ran treats Lum the way she does, and she probably experienced many other moments like this. To make things worse when Lum attempted to cover up for Ran her lies were too obvious and ended up making things worse for Ran.

But hey the episode ain't over yet and after the credits we get to see Sakura preparing a candy shaped love potion for Shinobu and Lum, so here we have Lum trying it out on Ataru while he's asleep, in the most indiscreet way possible.

Just when Ataru wakes up Lum pulls a genius move by telling him it was a present from Sakura, he ate it without even questioning it. The potion turned out to be a loud potion and nobody got hurt...except one unlucky man, that one was emotionally destroyed.

Good episode, and plenty of Ran's screentime which is always nice. Looking forward to the next one, it's gonna be a good one.

It's that last second of the op what ruins it. That and overall the fact that it's not even close as good as the first op. I want to see Lum dance gracefully.

Gosh Rei had a pretty abusive childhood with the mother always shouting at her without question. However it’s pretty true for some who have an aggressive speaker of a parent ;/

Also that kiss with Rei and Ran was adorable. In the end credits, it was hilarious with Ataru being a loudmouth instead of falling in love with Lum xD

This is the best episode yet. The backstory of Ran and Lum and Rei eating off of Ran's face was hilarious. Ran's alien costume is pretty hot.
